How to Download Threads Videos
Threads posts can contain useful, funny or educational videos that you may want to keep for offline viewing. If the post is public and the media is available, you can copy the post link and use a browser-based downloader without installing another app.
How to download a public Threads video
- Open Threads and find the public post containing the video.
- Open the share menu and choose the option to copy the post link.
- Open the Threads Video Downloader.
- Paste the copied URL into the downloader and submit it.
- When a downloadable result is available, use the download button to save the file.
On Android and iPhone
The same basic process works in a mobile browser. On Android, the downloaded file normally appears in the browser's Downloads area. On iPhone, Safari may save the file to the Files app depending on the download type and device settings.
On a computer
Copy the Threads post URL, open the downloader in Chrome, Edge, Firefox or another modern browser, paste the URL and save the returned file. Your browser's normal download settings determine where the file is stored.
Why a video may not download
- Private post: a public web downloader should not be expected to access private content.
- Invalid URL: copy the complete Threads post URL again.
- Unavailable media: the post may have been deleted or changed.
- Temporary processing problem: wait a moment and try the URL again.
What about video quality?
The available file and quality depend on the public media that can be retrieved from the post. A downloader cannot reliably create a higher-quality source than the media made available by Threads.
