In the Threads app, or on threads.net / threads.com, open the post with the video, tap the share icon, and choose "Copy Link." This also works for Threads GIFs — they're actually short MP4 clips, so they come through the same way as a regular video.
The tool reads the post and pulls out the video file attached to it.
If more than one resolution is available, choose one, then click Download File Now. The file saves through your browser's normal download flow — check your Downloads folder if you're not sure where it landed.
Threads doesn't currently have a download button for videos. The Save option is a bookmark — it adds the post to a private list inside Threads so you can find it again, but it doesn't put a file on your device.
That leaves two ways to get a copy: screen recording, or a downloader.
Screen recording works on any phone or computer, but it captures everything on the display — notification banners and the Threads interface included — and the result is only as sharp as your screen resolution.
A downloader gives you the video file attached to the post, at the resolution Threads has for it, with nothing around it.
You get the resolution Threads served for that post. ThreadsGrab doesn't upscale or re-compress, so a low-resolution upload can't be made sharper. If an HD copy exists, it appears in the list when Threads has one for that video.

ThreadsGrab adds no logo or watermark. Anything the poster built into the video — captions, a username or a logo — stays in the file as part of the original.
ThreadsGrab reads only what a logged-out visitor can see. A public profile's posts are open to anyone; a private profile's posts are limited to approved followers. ThreadsGrab doesn't sign in as you, doesn't ask for your credentials, and doesn't try to get around that setting — which also means it can't reach a private account you follow.
A deleted post is gone from Threads, so there's nothing to fetch. If any site asks for your Threads or Instagram password in order to download a video, close it. ThreadsGrab never asks.
The tool works with public post URLs from the Threads app, threads.com, and threads.net — both domains are supported, and threads.net links redirect to threads.com automatically.
Video files are much larger than photos. On a mobile connection, switch to Wi-Fi for anything longer than a few seconds.
iPhone and iPad. Open ThreadsGrab in Safari, paste the link and tap Download. Safari may offer Save Video, which puts the clip straight into Photos. If the file lands in the Files app instead, open it, tap the share icon and choose Save Video.
Android. The video saves to either a Movies folder or a Downloads folder depending on your browser and file manager. If it doesn't show up in your gallery, check both.
Windows, Mac and Linux. The video saves like any other download to your browser's downloads folder, and the browser shows progress while a longer clip writes to disk. To move it to your phone, use AirDrop, a cloud drive or email.
You paste a link, and ThreadsGrab fetches the public post's video and hands it to your browser. It works only on the link you give it. Our Privacy Policy states that videos and pictures aren't stored on ThreadsGrab's servers.
The site records basic technical details for analytics and security: IP address, approximate country or region, browser and device type, and pages visited. It uses Google Analytics and may show Google AdSense ads, and both can set cookies. Using the tool is free and needs no account.
A saved copy is for your own reference. Reposting it, editing it, or using it commercially generally needs the creator's permission, and our Disclaimer covers this. Keeping the creator's credit intact is the minimum. Rules differ by country — this isn't legal advice.
