How to Download Threads Videos, Images & DPs

Three steps, any public Threads post or profile — no account needed.

copy threads post or profile link

Copy the link

Open the Threads app or threads.net / threads.com, find the post or profile you want, tap the share icon, and choose Copy Link.

paste the copied link into the input field

Paste it above and click Download

ThreadsGrab works out what the link contains — a video, one or more photos, or a profile picture — and shows you the matching download option.

save loaded media file to device

Save the file

Preview the result, pick a quality option if more than one is available, then click Download to save through your browser's normal download flow.

One Link, Three Kinds of Media

Most Threads download tools ask you to pick a category before you've even pasted anything — video downloader, image downloader, profile picture tool — as if you already know what a link contains. ThreadsGrab skips that step. Paste any public Threads post or profile link into the box above, and it works out what's actually there: a video, one or more photos, or a profile picture, and shows you the matching download option. If you already know exactly what you're after, the dedicated tools below are faster; this page is for everything else.

What You Can Download Here

ThreadsGrab identifies the type of public Threads content in the link you paste and shows the matching download option.

  • Videos download as the original MP4, at the highest resolution available from the post — no re-encoding. For quality options, multi-video posts, and GIF handling, use the Threads Video Downloader.
  • Photos and carousels save as individual images at their original resolution. For carousel ordering and multi-image posts, use the Threads Image Downloader.
  • Profile pictures come out at full size instead of the small circular preview in the app. For anything specific to profile pictures, use the Threads Profile Picture Downloader.
  • Follower counts aren't something this tool downloads. If that's what you're after, the Threads Follower Counter tracks that instead.

What ThreadsGrab Can't Do

ThreadsGrab only works with content that's publicly visible on Threads — posts and profiles you could open without logging in. It can't reach private accounts, follower-only content, or anything behind a login wall, and it isn't built to get around those restrictions. If you can't open a post in a private browser window while logged out of Threads, ThreadsGrab won't be able to either.

What Happens to Your Link and File

When you paste a link, ThreadsGrab's servers fetch the media tied to that specific post and hand it to your browser to download. The file isn't stored or cached on our servers afterward, and there's no account system, so nothing is tied to your identity in the first place.

If a Link Won't Work

  • The URL looks cut off. A truncated link — common when copying from a mobile share sheet — is the most frequent reason a paste fails to process. Copy it again and check that it's complete.
  • You copied a link to a reply or quote post, not the original. Open the actual post you want and copy that link specifically.
  • The post was deleted or edited since you copied the link. Go back to Threads and copy it fresh.
  • The account or post is private. There's no way around this by design.
  • The link is from threads.net or threads.com but still won't load. Both domains are supported; try pasting it into the box again, since occasionally a copy gets an extra character appended.

Using What You Download Responsibly

Saving a file to your device isn't the same as having the right to repost, redistribute, or reuse it. Download content you created yourself, have explicit permission to use, or otherwise have a legitimate reason to keep a copy of. When in doubt, ask the creator or check Threads' own terms before reusing someone else's content. This isn't legal advice — rules vary by location and use case.
